Amateur mixologists are being given the opportunity to learn how to create mouthwatering cocktails with a series of intimate masterclasses at Bar Opus at One Snowhill.

Bar manager Sam Cross will be teaching groups of thirsty guests how to mix, shake and stir drinks from the ordinary into the extraordinary at three specially themed events.

Kicking off the masterclasses on Saturday 31st January is Whisky Galore, in which Sam will be twisting and mixing two bourbon based cocktails, the Vanilla Daisy and Harlequin. Saturday 14th February will see a masterclass for the romantics, in which Sam will be teaching guests how to make a Love Heart cocktail based on the traditional sweet, and a raspberry chocolate Silk Stocking. Getting into the St. Paddy’s spirit, Sam will also be hosting an Irish themed masterclass on 28th February, in which guests will be shaking up a gin based Clover Club and the top secret Crooked Swing.

Sam, a prominent face in Birmingham’s cocktail scene, said: “With these masterclasses, I want to show people the ingredients and techniques needed to make some truly unique cocktails. The classes are going to be a lot of fun and are excellent value, as we will be tasting the delicious cocktails we make along the way.”

The hour-long masterclasses, which are being held at either 2.00pm or 4.00pm, cost £15.00 per person.

Spaces are strictly limited. To book a ticket call Bar Opus on 0121 289 3939.
