Top Birmingham and Asian Network DJ Noreen Khan will be cutting the ribbon to open the latest The Body Shop store at Birmingham’s New Street Station - the final shop to open in the newly revamped complex this year.
The popular DJ, who has a weekday radio show on BBC Asian Network, along with 71,000 twitter followers, 24,000 instagram fans and 65,000 friends on Facebook, will be meeting customers at the opening on Thursday 26th November from 10am.
The new store, which is on the concourse at New Street Station, will also be offering an exclusive ‘rush-hour’ treatment menu for one week only, featuring three express makeovers for commuters in the morning rush, or those who are out on the town at the end of the day and in need of quick, pick-me-up pampering. No booking is required.
From 7am, Make-up and Skin Experts will be offering ladies and gents a five minute ‘Wake Me Up’ to revive tired eyes and skin, a 10 minute ‘Good to Glow’ to give your skin a fresh, healthy and highlighted look and a 15 minute Post Party Pamper to really refresh tired looking skin.
In the evening from 4pm, there will be a five minute ‘Get Lippy’ makeover to get a statement lip for your night out. If you have slightly longer, there will be a 10 minute ‘Glam and Go’ to transform your eyes, and if you have 15 minutes, try the ‘Pre-Party Pamper’ a mini makeover for your lips, eyes and skin.
The Body Shop will be joining 28 other retail outlets at New Street Station which was fully revealed in October with the opening of Grand Central. Next year the station plans to open the final 12 outlets.
In October, The Body Shop also opened its first outlet store in the West Midlands at the £150 million Resorts World Birmingham development.
In total, 15 new jobs have been created at the New Street Station store, joining the further nine at Resorts World.
Store Manager Amy Brotherton said: “We are so excited to be welcoming Noreen into store and also all of our new customers. As we are based in the heart of the station we know that we will be getting a lot of commuters popping in to see us and so we thought it would be the perfect idea to have our quick makeover menu on hand for when you are short of time but need that much needed pick-me-up.”
Noreen Khan added: “I’m honoured to be cutting the ribbon for The Body Shop’s new store. I've been a huge fan of the brand for years, not just the products but their ethical philosophy too. You always seem to feel good when leaving their stores and I am excited to have another store opening in Birmingham.”
Meena Cook, retail interface specialist for the Gateway Project at New Street Station said they were looking forward to welcoming The Body Shop to the site.
There will be an opening offer available on Thursday 26th and Saturday 28th November of £10 off £25 spend and 50 goodie bags worth £18.50 each day to give away.
Full 30 minute makeup and skincare consultations are also available on request.
