Top streetwear fashion brand - whose fans include Miley Cyrus and Rihanna - will be launching in Selfridges Birmingham next month (October) as part of the stores Live + Loud festival celebrations.
This Is A Love Song (TIALS), the Bali fashion brand founded in 2010 by design duo Nina Hadinata and Stephanie Vermaas, creates unique, bold and outspoken garments inspired by the designers R&B musical tastes.
From turning Aaliyah song titles into sequin slogans and reimagining TLC album names as monochrome graffiti, the unconventional designers use their love of parties, music and spontaneity as an underlying theme in all their designs.
The latest collection, which will be appearing in store from Thursday 1st October, is inspired by album artwork from 90s hip hop group A Tribe Called Quest, and uses an Andy Warhol-esque ‘Drake print’, which sees the famous Canadian rappers face printed on oversized t-shirts, body-con dresses and the cult favourite ‘bondage bra’.
TIALS, which is also favoured by style devotees Ellie Goulding and Jourdan Dunn, will be launching next week to celebrate the stores Live + Loud festival.
The never-before-seen event will bring together talented designers, artists, photographers and musicians between Thursday 1st October and Sunday 4th October and will take place at Selfridges and a disused warehouse in Digbeth.
Adam Hockley, general manager of Selfridges Birmingham, said: “We are always on the hunt for upcoming, innovative designers with individuality and This Is A Love Song ticks all those boxes. With their unique and unmistakable designs, we thought it would be perfect to launch this line in connection with our Live + Loud festival, as part of our diversity in fashion celebrations.”
TIALS will be located on Level 4.
Tickets for Live + Loud festival are free and can be booked at www.selfridges.com/liveandloud.
