An extra special Christmas filled with glitter, sparkle and shine has just been unveiled in Selfridges Birmingham for savvy shoppers looking for truly outstanding and unique gifts, guaranteed to please.
Dazzling window displays located over two floors and featuring Father Christmas enjoying an Alpine retreat break, capture the magic of the season.
He is accompanied by the magnificent display in the store’s atrium, which has over 16,000 baubles and a garland which, if placed end-to-end, would be over twice the height of the Eiffel Tower. It is also adorned with 400 meters of fairy lights to capture this year's theme of ‘Shine On’.
As ever, to make Christmas truly special, there are a host of unique and personalised gifts in the city centre store to give shoppers the chance to find irresistible presents for the whole family and a host of friends.
Taking centre stage this year is the Ultimate Christmas Hamper, costing £5,000 and filled to the brim with festive treats and must-haves, from Dom Perignon champagne to Taylor’s 20 Year Old Tawny Port, Italian Thick Hot Chocolate, Beluga Caviar, a Royal Fillet of Salmon, Artisan Mango, Lime and Chilli Pickle, Vintage Christmas puddings and Artisan Salted Caramel Chocolates.
Sam Watts, general manager of Selfridges, said: “Our £5,000 hamper is one unique and sumptuous way for a family to celebrate Christmas. It is packed full of goodies which have been hand-picked by our team so you can really indulge. The hamper includes everyone’s festive favourites, as well as some of the most desirable Christmas delicacies available.”
On the Beauty Floor, there is also a comprehensive selection of some of the most luxurious beauty advent calendars available, from Charlotte Tilbury’s World of Legendary Parties (£150), the Diptique Advent Calendar which is brimming with scents from the iconic Parisian perfumer house (£250), along with the Kiehl’s covetable skincare calendar (£95), Selfridges’ Eclectic Little Luxuries Advent Calendar which brings together the best of beauty including YSL, Lancome, Viktor & Rolf and Urban Decay (£95) and the 12-piece ClarinsMen kit containing all of the skin care essentials (£65).
The Beauty Workshop Advent Calendar is the beauty junkie’s play pen – full of diverse and exciting new brands, it seemed the perfect opportunity to gather our beauty team’s favourites together for the ultimate countdown to the big day (£65).
Bespoke Gifting is still one of the best ways to make Christmas truly special - by transforming extraordinary products into unique gifts with a little help from Selfridges.
Selfridges and Möet & Chandon have once again collaborated, allowing you and your friends to create personalised labels for Möet champagne bottles. Customers can upload their favourite photos from their smartphone to the booth before a Möet team member affixes it to the Möet bottles. Prices start from £19.99 and this year are available in the 700ml bottles.
Skinny Prosecco, this summer’s favourite tipple, is also back on the shelves for the festive season for those wanting to enjoy a drink but are watching their waist as it contains 50% less of the usual sugar content. The exclusive skinny mini bottles are priced at £6 for one bottle or £30 for a pack of six.
This year Selfridges has launched a brand new product to their Christmas range – the Salted Caramel Panettone (£24.99) and has become the no 1 best selling item in their new Christmas range. The Salted Caramel Panettone has a light, fluffy, open texture and a pleasant vanilla fragrance. The dough itself is infused with jewels of caramel that deliver an amazing sweet caramel punch, this is balanced with subtle salt notes to offer a very rounded flavour.
For those wanting to make their loved ones feel extra special, the Abigail Warner custom wrapping paper is available online. Prices start from £15 and designs include Santa, the nutcracker, holly and gingerbread men – all with whomever-you-want’s name on it.
Sam added: “Christmas is always a special time in store and we are always thrilled and proud when the moment comes to unveil the decorations for all our shoppers to enjoy. Our in-store team works around the clock to make it look perfect and people travel from across the West Midlands to come and see what we have to offer for the festive season. From personalised gifts to show your loved one how much you care, to the most beautiful, exclusive fashion, food and beauty products on offer, there really is something for everyone this Christmas.”
