As temperatures continue to drop and weather forecasters predict a cold snap will reach Birmingham by next week, one hotel in the city is offering a unique way to lap up the winter season without the worry of red noses or chattering teeth!

The Park Regis hotel on Broad Street has installed a cosy igloo dome on its outdoor terrace, complete with snug throws, comfy seats, twinkly lights and a faux fire to keep guests toasty as they enjoy a tipple under the stars.

Dubbed the ‘secret igloo’ thanks to its private and intimate location, the transparent dome is available to visitors on a first come, first serve basis with no need to book, and there is currently no minimum spend either. It seats eight people comfortably and guests can enjoy waiter service too.

“With winter coming, we wanted to offer guests a place where they can enjoy the outdoors under the comfort of a blanket with a mulled wine or hot chocolate to hand and the stars above,” said Mark Payne, General Manager at Park Regis Birmingham.

The secret igloo follows the success of the hotel’s ‘Park Plage’ in the summer, which saw the terrace transformed into a beach area complete with sand, complimentary flip-flops and deck chairs for guests to make the most of the sunshine.

“Our terrace is one of very few unique outdoor spaces in the heart of the city and we like to get creative with how we use it,” continued Mark. “The Park Plage was really popular and we hope visitors will enjoy our new igloo just as much.”

Park Regis Birmingham offers a seasonal Happy Hour menu, available every day from 4pm to 7pm, including a Baileys Pumpkin Spiced Martini, Sailor Jerry & Hot Chocolate, Americana and Snow Man for just £5 each.
