Park Regis Birmingham has partnered with Birmingham Hippodrome to sponsor the Gala Evening for Matilda The Musical.

To celebrate the opening of the much-anticipated Matilda The Musical, the hotel has donated Roald Dahl books to the Year 3 group of pupils at Regents Park Community School in Small Heath, Birmingham, to help encourage youngsters to uncover the wonderful world of Roald Dahl.  

The initiative is spearheaded by the Birmingham Hippodrome Education Network (HEN), which aims to support primary schools in the region educational activities to enhance children’s learning experience.

Since opening its doors, the prestigious four-star hotel Park Regis has established itself as a key member of Birmingham’s business, arts and charity communities.

Laura Orrell, Director of Sales at Park Regis Birmingham, said: “From day one we have always been passionate about working with and supporting the arts community in Birmingham. We are proud to have partnered with Birmingham Hippodrome to host the Matilda The Musical Gala Evening and provide local children with probably their first experience in the world of Roald Dahl. I hope they’ll be able to lose themselves in a great book this summer.”  

Headteacher Alan Beale added: "Children enjoy theatre and they enjoy books. The Roald Dahl books are a welcome addition to the Regents Park School library, and I’m certain that they will be well used.”

The multi-award winning  Matilda The Musical will be playing at the Birmingham Hippodrome until Saturday 8 September.
