Birmingham’s landmark Selfridges store has launched an exciting new concession this month.
Flying Tiger Copenhagen (formerly known as Tiger) has opened a new shop in Selfridges Birmingham, stocking an exclusive range of products, including homeware, toys, stationery, party accessories and more.
The new outlet marks the first time globally that the international Scandi chain has opened inside another store. The move is also another ‘first’ for the Midlands, which welcomed the first ever British Tiger store in Solihull in 2005. The brand has created 300 new jobs in the Midlands in the past two years, opening 20 new shops across the region.
The Danish design store is already adored by Birmingham shoppers, and the new shop - which opened on Friday 5th August on the ground floor of the Birmingham Selfridges store - will offer the same playful, magical feel that consumers know and love; selling unique, relevant and fun products designed by Flying Tiger Copenhagen’s internal design team at surprisingly affordable prices.
Jon Edwards, Director at Tiger Midlands, is delighted to be partnering with the prestigious department store. He, said: “We are excited to bring our quirky, own-designed products, to Selfridges’ customers and we believe it’s a perfect marriage of two brands that strive to be leaders in the retail industry. We also want to send a positive message at a time of uncertainty in British business. Our European-based parent company is continuing to invest heavily in the UK, with no signs of stopping.”
Selfridges Birmingham General Manager Adam Hockney said: "We are delighted to be welcoming Flying Tiger into our store and bringing some truly unique products with them. We know our customers will love the new shopping experience and we look forward to welcoming them here next month.”
